Little Moment #10- SOLD!

"Little Moment #10"
watercolor (6" x 6")
Painting on Arches paper mounted on archival museum board,
UV and archival varnish coated. Display easel included.

I had so much fun with Kelley's Gerber Daisy, that I decided to do a few more flowers.  This is a Calla Lily.  Did you know that the Calla Lilies are endemic to southern Africa.  They grow naturally in marsh areas and that all parts of the plant are very toxic (unlike pansies, which are edible).  When I hear things like this, it kinda amazes me...that something so pretty can be so poisonous!!  It seems such a contradiction of sorts, unless God, in His magnificent protecting these plants so that their beauty may be admired yet not eaten by predators...or maybe He is teaching us...just because something or someone is beautiful on the outside it doesn't necessary mean that they are the same on the inside.
Are you a Calla Lilly or a Pansy?
