"Spokes"
watercolor (6" x 6")
Do you remember putting playing cards beteeen the spokes of your bike?
Do you remember getting the colorful plastic spoke covers?
Do you remember the clickers that attached to the spokes?
All so that someone could hear you coming down the street.
What else do you remember about your childhood bicycle?
I remember I had a bright yellow Schwinn with a matching yellow banana seat.
Today's piece down memory lane can be yours.

My first bicycle was second-hand, very rusty and had a fixed wheel, which was handy for slowing you down on a downhill slope, but if you wanted to free wheel, you had to stick your legs out, while the pedals spun round between your legs!
Love the composition and shadow.
Julie, this is such a nice painting!. Beautiful shadows !
Great job.
I DO remember those cards! This is so terrific and creative! The light and color are both shimmering!
I had to have a boy's bike. Way cooler. Definitely used the playing cards for sound.
This is such a fun piece Julie. Great!
This would be such a great gift for a biking enthusiast! Gorgeous work, Julie, as always.
Great composition , Julie. I adore this piece. I remember the freedom of jumping on my bike, flying down a very steep hill with my legs stretched out & the wind in my face. Oh the simplicity of life. Thanks for the memory.
Fun subject Julie.
Magnificent composition and color!

LIVE this! Enough said, and no more!
OK. I had a turquoise schwin - my first 2 wheeler. In high school I got a yellow Schwin - loved them both to death!
