Caffe Pergola, Radicondoli

"Caffe Pergola, Radicondoli"
watercolor (7" x 10")

Going back into the Italy photos...such fond memories of our Tuscany trip.
This place touted the "Best Pizza in Tuscany",
and happened to be in the ~500 person village of Radicondoli which we were staying in.
So of course we had to try it..and yes it was really good pizza!!

6th and Main St, LA -Sold!

"6th and Main St., Afternoon in Los Angeles"
watercolor (7" x 10")

Oh so refreshing, just what I needed.
I pulled myself out of the "Train World",
and painted this piece this morning.
Very excited about the upcoming solo show highlighting trains, current and historic.....
but have to be honest...I think I may have hit my threshold painting those big old engines.
Hope you all can make it out to the opening (info here), it would be great to see you.
Now back to my not a big old engine!
Just lovely downtown Los Angeles in the afternoon sun.

DeEtte's Poppies- Sold!

watercolor (11" x 25")
SOLD (commission)

I love fun and unusual perspectives.
I'd love to look at the world in a differnet way.
I want to stretch myself so that I can see the world in God's perspective, not my own.
How can I do that...without going to Heaven,
or laying down with my head buried in the poppies?

Cycling in Tustin

"Cycling in Tustin"
watercolor (12" x 15")

This is the painting I did for the summer demo series at Chemers Gallery last Thursday.
It was such a  lovely evening listening to live music, meeting art collectors, talking to people who are interested in your process, and of course,...hanging with my gal pal artists.
Looking forward to the next Celtic music this time, August 18th...join us if you can!

Summer en Plein Aire #5- Sold!

"Brown Mountain Creek, Altadena"
watercolor (10" x 7")

Well, if you have been following, I have embarked on painting en plein air this summer.
Its so cool when you ask your 10 yr old daughter,
"What would you like to do tomorrow?"
and she replies, "Mom, I would like to go plein air painting".
Of course let's be real here...what that really means in her world,
"Mom, I want to go on a hot sweaty hike, frolic in the water, play with the dog, try and catch frogs, and get as wet and dirty as possible"
...I believe my daughter has now mastered the "Art of Manipulation".

I know of your pain.
I know of your sorrow.
I know of your dissapointments.
I know of your struggles.
May you find solace here; a moment of peace, a moment of comfort.

Farmers Market

"Fresh Veggies, Tustin Farmers Market "
watercolor (11" x 30")

Sometimes you just need to break away.
When you get so focussed on the "BIG" stuff,
you forget the little stuff that makes you happy and relaxed.
What is the "little stuff" that you makes you happy and relaxed?
Me? Painting today's painting...letting loose with lots of color and no structure.
How can you let loose to find that happy relaxed state?

"Gabrielino Trail, Oak Tree Vista"
watercolor (7" x 10")

Another day frolicking in the sun, water and foothills.
Today we hiked a bit on the Gabrielino Trail.
I found a shady spot, with a lovely vista of the Oak and Alder trees,
and a little trickle of the Arroyo Creek.
Dog and daughter scampering away.
me...painting away.
A lovely outing, I'd say.

Summer en Plein Aire #3

"Arroyo Seco Creek"
watercolor (7" x 10")

Well I have to say this summer is off to a fabulous start!
Today's plein air frolicking session was sans daughter (softball camp this week).
My husband so kindly stepped in, he was pretty good...
but not really a "frolicker" like a kid and dog can be.
Still it was a very relaxing and peaceful outing we had.
Wishing you all a lovely and fun holiday weekend!
