Tuscany Too- Sold!

"Tuscany Too"
watercolor (6" x 6")

Some days...all you can get is 20 minutes of distraction.
Last week I had one of those days, and I "stole" 20 minutes...
This painting was my 20 minutes of bliss.
What can you do for yourself get yourself 20 minutes of bliss?

NYC, In the Light

"NYC, In the Light"
watercolor (18" x 24")

Everything is better in the light.
It may be hard to see at first...
even harder to hear.
But if its the truth,
its where you are supposed to be.
How about you?
Do you prefer to walk down the dark side or
sunny side of the street?

Today's painting "NYC, In the Light" is available.
email me for this piece of sunshine.

Take a Peek at My New Studio

So many of you have asked for photos, videos ..anything of my new studio space...
 and here it is.
My wonderful husband compiled this video...but funny thing, he kept asking
"Why are you including the storage closet?"
I said "Because fellow artists would truly appreciate having that much storage space for their supplies"
...he still doesn't get it...

And what do you all think of my chaise?
Maybe a more accurate title for this room is "Artist Retreat"

Morning Ritual

"Morning Ritual"
watercolor (6" x 6")

What kind of morning person are you?
do you have a routine that you HAVE to stick with?
coffee, paper, walk the dog?

What happens when you get out of your routine?
Is your whole day ruined?
Or do enjoy the new perspective?

I think, a mix up every once in a while is good for the soul...
it makes you appreciate the comforts of your morning ritual.

Today's piece was inspired by Dana Cooper's challenge on Daily Paintworks
(click here to see what other artists entered).
Painting is available, email me if interested

Meet Me at The Cafe

"Meet Me at the Cafe"
watercolor (13" x 17")
available at Chemers Gallery

What a delightful day I had yesterday.
I invited my dear artist friends (Dana Cooper, Dori Dewberry and Kim VanDerHoek) over for a day of painting, lunch, with many visits to my tea drawer...and of course to check out my studio space in our new house. Such fun, never tire of their good company and being in the presence of super fine artists.
Only thing missing was Kelley Sanford...ah, but we got her on speaker phone for a bit.
Yes, it was a delightful day...and I actually got some painting done...umbrellas and flower pots, some of my favorite things to paint.

Poppies Galore!

"Poppies Galore!"
watercolor (13" x 30")

Ever been somewhere and think, "I have to come back!"
Ever felt something, and thought "I want this feeling to last forever"
Ever paint something for someone else, and feel "I want one for myself!"

The original of this painting (a slightly smaller sized commission),
was a treat to paint and I enjoyed it so much...
I decided to do one for our new house.

No worries, if you like this one as much as I do...I'd be more than glad to paint one for you too!

Strolling in Temecula

"Strolling in Temecula"
watercolor (12" x 16")

Can't you just picture this?
A lovely day out in the wine-country town of Temecula.
Shopping, dining, and exploring.
Sun warming your back as you walk the quaint streets.
Yes, a lovely day for sure.

Leoness Vineyard, Temecula

"Leoness Cellars Vineyard, Temecula"
watercolor (13" x 30")

Well Happy New Year my friends!
Last Fall we attended a wedding at this was quite lovely.
Imagine this, instead of the bride being walked down the aisle...
you spot a speck of white far in the distance,
it is the bride riding sidesaddle atop a hug stallion,
she is strolling down the long vineyard paths towards us,
right up to the arbor overlooking this vista.
Yes, a great start to their marriage I'd say.
Wishing you and yours a great start to 2012!
