Well this is what I have to show for yesterday....what a lovely day!

2 hours drive there, 2 hour drive back....but 4 hrs of PAINTERS BLISS!

So glad I committed to paint with Kim VanDerHoek's group....

A habit, and comfortableness is forming for plein air

so imagine how easy it will be for me going in my own area 

(not driving 4 hours total every Thursday).

Sometimes we just need that structure and accountability 

to push us forward. Thanks Kim!

Every Thursday for the month of April I have and will be been joining Kim VanDerHoek's plein air group down in Orange County. Last Thursday we set up in the traffic circle of Old Town Orange. Great fun. As most of you know, painting plein air is quite different than painting in the luxury and comforts of your studio. I find it so much more intense, and for a watercolorist...so much more challenging as the paint/paper behaves so differently out in the elements...ah but still great fun! This week we are going to Laguna Beach...so keep a look out for a plein air seascape later this week.
